Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self

how we can practice together

at studio sensi

I founded Studio Sensi in June 2025, bringing a decade of corporate marketing and events experience together with a lifelong yoga practice to create a different kind of studio: a secret neighbourhood yoga space nestled between the houses of Hove, offering body and mind practices to support daily life.

The name comes from the Italian word "sensazione" meaning feeling, sense, sensation reflecting the studio's focus on reconnecting people to their bodies, minds, and environment. Classes are capped at 10 spaces, intimate enough to feel like a yoga retreat every time.

Since opening, the studio has grown quickly: over 5,000 people through the door and now running 29 classes a week across styles spanning down-regulating practices, balancing practices, invigorating practices, embodied movement, moving meditation, and myofascial release, taught by a rota of 16 teachers. Beyond classes, Sensi also hosts workshops and offers its studio space for hire.

We are housed in a converted 1890s mews stable on Brooker Place, the studio carries its history in its bones, layered with traces of the builders, accountants, mechanics, and horses who occupied the building before it became a home for yoga. Come and practice with me here !

your 6, your way

Y6YW: A private, two-part yoga experience designed entirely around you, your goals, your body, and your pace. This isn't a drop-in class. It's a personalised 6-pose practice built just for you, delivered over two short sessions.

Session 1: We start with a conversation, either online or in person. I'll ask about what brought you here, whether that's easing back pain, managing stress, improving flexibility, recovering from injury, or simply wanting to feel more at home in your body. We'll also cover any injuries, conditions, or areas to be mindful of, so everything that follows is safe and suited to you.

There's no mat work in this session. It's just about understanding what you need.

Session 2: This is where we put the plan into action. I'll guide you through each of the six elements one by one, adjusting your form as we go and explaining the purpose behind each movement or breath. You'll leave with cues you can recall on your own. At the end of session two, you'll receive a one-page summary of your personalised sequence poses, breath work, and the reasoning behind each so you can keep practising independently between visits.

A few things to know:

  • No experience necessary. Sequences are built for your current ability, whether that's your first time on a mat or you've been practising for years.

  • This is collaborative. Speak up during the consultation, the more I understand, the more useful your sequence will be.

  • Pacing is yours to set. If something doesn't feel right at any point, we adjust on the spot.

Lizzie taught me to relax through breathing techniques and yoga. She discussed making time for myself and the importance of prioritising “me time” I found all the sessions inspiring and the difference after one particular session was quite moving. Lizzie is professional in her approach and has a kind, caring manner. She is genuinely interested in helping , I feel she has a real talent and aptitude for yoga therapy.

Lizzie continually checked in with me during sessions, to help me assess what felt good, and what helped ease my back, hand and hip issues. I therefore felt fully involved in the process. Lizzie communicated clearly with me about how the therapy would work. I felt that she approached each session with a genuine concern for my well-being, coupled with a friendly and professional manner.

I want to emphasise how much I've appreciated the focus on meditation, the gentler movements and the breath work throughout our sessions. I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced any panic attacks recently, and I attribute much of this improvement to the meditation practices you've recommended.
